On the morning of our Summer '17 photoshoot we had some pretty major weather to contend with at Geelong's Eastern Park, and our 'go to' was the Rain Radar app to find a small window of opportunity to get the shots we needed to create a summer campaign. It might not always be sunshine-y, but there's always a rainbow after a storm, and we'd like to think our team is pretty good at finding the best in a situation, and making good ol' lemonade out of lemons ;)
Here's cheers to the 'sunshine-hunters' on another fun-filled Oishi-m day!
Tip of the hat to a beautiful moment in time, Rolling Thunder SS T Shirt wears a Fallen Broken Street hat and takes the hand of his buddy, Fairy Garden SS Splice T Shirt and Niji Legging. Niji is a Japanese name for girls, meaning 'rainbow', so it was fitting that thunder and rainbows were paired together ;)
And again, he's loving that hat! Sometimes not all props make their way back into the store ;)
Show the kids a pathway and allow them some freedom, and RUNNING is ALWAYS the answer! Then someone has to lead them back again! Cue a bit of direction from a mama!
Back detail of the divine Dandelions Dress with fluttering sprinkles sleeves - time to make a wish!
Ole SS T Shirt, Rikka SS T Shirt and Jumping Gelati Crew Jumper - the sweetest of friends. A beautiful outcome of our regular photoshoots is that our children become friends and loooove playing together. We never tire of moments like these, where lil 'uns look up to the big 'uns with happiness and admiration...... and she feels like queen of the kids, complete with a 'regal' pompom necklace.
Outfits are organised in the days leading up to the photoshoot; we're always checking what sizes the kids need to wear (has there been a growth spurt since we last saw them), and accessories are coordinated for each look. The Fallen Broken Street felted hat was the perfect headwear to complement our Pretty Posy Sweater Dress.
The picture of sweet summer, colours to lift your heart and soul.
Cracking 'icky' faces - it's all in a morning's work ;)
Bag/Jacket/Accessory/Scarf Monitors! Somebody's gotta do it!
Sometimes you need a lil' bit of help from mum to be the world's best tree climber. Imaginations were running wild when they discovered this magic faraway tree.
No grown-up's allowed, we're all just big kids at heart - especially when there's an opportunity to swing and climb trees...
...or dance like no-one's watching :)
Diamond Dusk T Dress takes a moment of quiet to be at one with nature, with Geelong's iconic Eastern Beach in the backgroud.
Being in the outdoors for photoshoots sometimes makes for unconventional places for changes and we've learnt to be pretty flexible and resourceful. Tan bark is quite comfy :)
"I see you, watching you, watching me!" When the subject snaps a pic of the photographers, it's truly 'behind the scenes'...
Amongst our mainly female tribe, these are some of our most important guys who help bring Oishi-m to life in pictures; say hello to the very talented Mr. Ed Sloane and Mr. Dave Green.
Reviewing some shots with Dave the videographer whilst on location, so we can get a sense of what the final edit might look like.
And that's a wrap! Thanks to our fabulous kids as always for being fun loving, adventurous, resilient and easily swayed with bribes of hot chocolates and yummy bliss balls after a big run at the park ;)
Thanks for coming Behind The Scenes to see more of our shoot, we hope you enjoy seeing our 'out-takes' and what it takes to get the shots.
